James Cameron Says that Avatar and iPhone Don't Mix

James Cameron wants to be very clear: he thinks that, if you watch Avatar on your iPhone or laptop, you're an idiot. He's not calling you Glenn Beck, though. Yet.

I think James has a point, though: watching media meant for a huge screen on a screen that's the opposite of huge can be frustrating, but I tend to compensate by playing the volume really loud. Laptops, though, give us an acceptable size for movie-watching.

In this case, I'll play it safe by not watching Avatar at all. Besides, I've seen Pocahontas already. On my iPhone.

"I don't feel that I'm making movies for iPhones," he explained. "If someone wants to watch it on an iPhone, I'm not going to stop them, especially if they're paying for it, but I don't recommend it.

"I think it's dumb, when you have characters that are so small in the frame that they're not visible."

Clearly, James Cameron's preferred movie viewing style is inspired by four-year-olds, and that's not necessarily a bad thing, right?
"What I recommend is getting the coffee table out of the way and sticking your couch about four feet from your TV."
