Jamie Waylett (Crabbe) Gets Community Service for Growing Pot
Jamie Waylett, who plays bully Vincent Crabbe in the Harry Potter films, was sentenced to 120 hours of community service by district judge Timothy Workman for growing ten cannabis plants in his mother's house.
"Mr. Waylett, I accept that the cultivation of this cannabis was on a small scale, and this was not in any way a commercial venture on your part," Workman told the City of Westminster Magistrates Court.
"Nevertheless you used a sophisticated growing system to do so," he was quoted as saying by the Press Association.
Jamie Waylett, who plays bully Vincent Crabbe in the Harry Potter films, has been charged for growing ten cannabis plants in his mother's house. The London resident was arrested in April after police found bags of pot in his car. This story comes to light just before the premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
If convicted, Jamie Waylett could face up to 14 years in prison.
He was then taken to a nearby police station, where he was questioned by officers while his mother's home was raided, where police allegedly seized 10 marijuana plants, which were growing alongside Jamie's DJ equipment and a games console.
He will appear at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on 16 July.
This bit is a bit disturbing, though: is it actually a crime to photograph police in the UK? Tourists do it all the time.
Waylett was arrested with a friend after he took a photo of police as the pair drove past officers. When police searched his friend's car they found a number of bags of cannabis.

It would seem that buying pot would be less risky.

I have heard of this curse on the Harry Potter actors. I do not believe of it but they sure are having a lot of bad luck. I just hope the movie doesn't suffer from these lastest backdrops.
