January 20th is National Penguin Awareness Day
January 20th marks National Penguin Awareness Day, and people are encouraged to learn as much penguin-related information as possible. The cute and cuddly animal is somewhat of a pop culture icon and can be seen in movies, commercials and as mascots for sports teams.
Don't know much about penguins? Today is perfect day to learn. Whether it's looking them up on Wikipedia or visiting them in person at the zoo or aquarium. If you don't feel like heading out, turn on one of your favorite penguin movies, whether it's the animated Happy Feet, Tim Burton's Batman Returns or the Morgan Freeman narrated March of the Penguins. If movies or visits to the zoo aren't your thing, then wear your favorite Pittsburgh Penguins Jersey, or an outfit of black and white. Tuxedos are preferred if you're feeling especially dressy.
