Jay Leno Debut Beats David Letterman in Ratings

To the surprise of no one, The new-and-not improved Tonight Show with Jay Leno returned to good ratings, easing beating Late Show with David Letterman and ABC’s combination of Nightline and Jimmy Kimmel Live. According to NBC, Leno scored a 5.4 rating/14 share while Letterman earned a 3.0/8,Nightline, a 3.4/8 and Live, a 1.8/6. 

Leno got a boost from all with skier Lindsey Vonn appearing in his first episode.

One person who was watching was Howard Stern, who ripped into Jay Leno on CBS this morning.
