Rap mogul Jay-Z and former NBA superstar Allen Iverson will be honored during NBHHCM (National Basketball & Hip-Hop Culture Month) 2K11 this coming June for their 15th Anniversary celebrations.

On June 25, 1996 Jay-Z released his debut album "Reasonable Doubt" from Rock-A-Fella Records and one of the biggest hip-hop music careers was launched. June 25, 2011 will mark the 15th Anniversary date release of the album.

The album featured popular songs Can't Knock the Hustle, Dead Presidents 11, and Brooklyn's Finest (featuring Nototious B.I.G.).

Jay-Z has become one of the most influential music artists in the industry. He is currently a minority owner of the New Jersey Nets of the NBA.

On June 26, 1996 the next day after Jay-Z's album release Allen Iverson was selected as the number 1 over-all pick of the 1996 NBA Draft. June 26, 2011 will mark the 15th Anniversary of Iverson being drafted.

Iverson became the first guard selected number 1 since Magic Johnson in 1979.

The kid nicknamed "The Answer" became the all-time most influential player to the hoops and hip-hop culture. His corn-rows, shooting sleeve, and head bands are very popular on the college and pro level today. Iverson hasn't been in the NBA for almost 1 1/2 seasons.

His 26.7 ppg average is 6th all-time, and his 24,368 points is 17th all-time. Iverson is a first-ballot Hall-of-Fame player who won the 2001 NBA MVP award becoming the shortest player in NBA history to do so. He's also a 4-time scoring champion. He led his Philadelphia 76ers to the NBA Finals in 2001. The Sixers were defeated by the LA Lakers 4-1.

Allen Iverson changed the game from a cultural stand-point more so than any other athlete in any other sport. You may love him or hate him but he is indeed a renaissance man that deserves the respect he's do for his contribution to the fusion of hoops and hip-hop culture.

June has been observed as NBHHCM since 2009.
