The almighty hip-hop icon Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 has finally set a release date — the album will drop September 11, 2009 — exactly 8 years to the day after the release of his first Blueprint album.

That's right folks, the hotly anticipated third installment in Hov's Blueprint coming this fall will be Jay's 11th studio album, making his brief stint away from the mic look even more like the worst retirement in rap's history.

Producers scheduled to contribute include Timbaland and Kanye West.

Jay-Z's long-awaited Blueprint 3 LP will be released on September 11 via a deal with the Warner Music Group, a source close to the situation has confirmed to MTV News.
