Jenny Slate and Nasim Pedrad Join Saturday Night Live (SNL)

Jenny Slate and Nasim Pedrad will be joining Saturday Night Live as its newest female cast. The 35th season will start with Weekend Update on Thursday Sept. 17, and SNL season premiere on Sept. 26, which Megan Fox will be hosting.

Jenny Slate is an independent comedian in Brooklyn, NY. She performs with her comedy partner Gabe Liedman as Gabe & Jenny. They host the "Big Terrific" with Max Silverstri and the Cameo every Wednesday night at 8 pm. Jenny and Gabe were in a Verizon TV ad, and Jenny appeared in the "7th Floor West" parody series of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

Nasim Pedrad was born in Tehran, Iran; went to UCLA's School of Theatre, Film and Television in 2003.

Nasim Pedrad had her one-woman show, Me, Myself & Iran, in The Comedy Festival in Las Vegas in 2007, where I first saw her perform. Born in Tehran, Iran, Pedrad is a UCLA grad and has worked with The Groundlings, the UCB Theatre and Improv Olympic. She recently has been a player in the Sunday cast of The Groundlings.

Pedrad appeared in NBC playing "Nurse Suri" in ER.
