Jerry Seinfeld was the first guest on tonight's premier of Jay Leno's new NBC talk show that airs at 10 pm, much earlier than the Tonight Show which Leno is best known for hosting.

Jerry Seinfeld, dressed in a tuxedo, started his conversation with Leno saying he was disappointed that Leno couldn't get a bigger celebrity to be a guest on the show. Leno said he tried to get Oprah but couldn't, after which Jerry boasted about how he could get Oprah to guest on a show easily, according to the huffington post.

A television descended behind the Seinfeld and Leno with, lo and behold, Oprah, who stayed for some on-air small-talk with Jerry.

Jay Leno said that his show would be different from the tonight show, and named some features to distinguish the two: Leno would have no desk, only one guest per night, and fewer musical acts.

A quirky feature of his new show is that guests will compete in green-vehicle races on a track that NBC specially built outside the show`s soundstage, csmonitor reports.

Though NBC promised that Leno's new show would be different from the Tonight Show, some think that the two shows are not very different.

The Jay Leno Show, NBC has been telling us all summer, was "comedy at 10," not simply a second Tonight Show. Instead, what we got was a monologue, a couple taped comedy bits, an interview, a musical act, another interview and Headlines.

It was obvious that Jay isn't ammused or impressed by Jerry. All stand upcomics know that Larry David is the real brain behind all of Jerrys success. Jay even through it at Jerry's face at the very end when he asked about Larry.
