Jersey Shore Shark Attack: Yes, This Will Be a Real Movie
SyFy's Jersey Shore Shark Attack Cast List
Yes, Syfy is producing a flick called Jersey Shore Shark Attack. Yes, it's a TV movie. No, you aren't imagining it. And wait until you see the Jersey Shore Shark Attack cast list.
Vinny Guadagnino from Jersey Shore will be appearing. Strangely, he's the only Jersey Shore cast member attached. The movie also stars Joey Fatone ('N Sync), Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas), Tony Sirico (The Sopranos). According to zap2it, Joey Fatone will be playing himself.
While the movie's "swarms of sharks" will be computer-generated (hopefully to Syfy's delightfully average standard), there really were Jersey Shore shark attacks.
Real-Life Jersey Shore Shark Attacks Terrified the East Coast
Set the Way-Back Machine to July 1916, where four people were killed by sharks in Matawan, Beach Haven, and Spring Lake. Hey, Beach Haven isn't far from Seaside Heights. That series of deadly shark attacks sparked a huge panic, prompting citizen shark hunters to go after "man-eating sharks", and kick-starting American scientific interest in the mysterious predators.
The attacks inspired Peter Benchley's Jaws. That novel, and its film version, starred a Great White, but the species of the real-life Jersey Shore sharks are unknown.
