Jimmy Kimmel on Jay Leno Show Video: Kimmel Rips Leno On Air
Jimmy Kimmel has been having a field day with the whole Jay Leno-Conan O'Brien feud. A few nights ago, Kimmel impersonated Leno for an entire episode of his own program Jimmy Kimmel Live. On Thursday night, Jimmy Kimmel took things a bit further during an appearance on The Jay Leno Show. Leno invited Kimmel onto his show to take part in his 10 Questions segment. It's safe to say that you won't see Jimmy Kimmel on the Jay Leno Show (or whatever show he hosts) for a long while.
For instance, Leno asked Kimmel, “What’s the best prank you ever pulled?”
Kimmel responded: “...but I think the best prank I ever pulled was I told a guy that five years from now I’m gonna give you my show and then when the five years came, I gave it to him and then I took it back almost instantly. It was hilarious…I think he works at Fox or something now,” Kimmel said.
When Leno asked a question about lapdances, Kimmel said, “Strippers I don’t like in general, because you have this phony relationship with them for money. Similar to that of when you and Conan were on the ‘Tonight Show’ together passing the torch.”
Kimmel ended the interview by saying, “Conan and I have children. All you have to take care of are cars. We have lives to lead here. You’ve got $800 million for God’s sake. Leave our shows alone."
Judging by Leno's reaction to Jimmy Kimmel's responses, he seemed caught off guard by Kimmel's barbs. Leno has been lambasted by late night comics as of late--Conan O'Brien and David Letterman have certainly gotten their jabs in. But Jimmy Kimmel was the only one who actually to get his shots in while appearing on Leno's Show.
One critic found the Jimmy Kimmel on The Jay Leno Show to be a gutsy and hilarious performance.
It was the comedy of discomfort. Everything was laid bare. Andy Kaufman, Lenny Bruce and maybe Johnny Carson too, were all smiling, wherever they were. But maybe none of them watch talk shows at 10 p.m. After all, hardly anyone does and that’s part of how this whole affair got started.
