Joaquin Phoenix Abandons Film, Pursues Hip-Hop Muse
Apparently tired of success as an A-list actor, Joaquin Phoenix, best known for his Oscar-nominated role as Johnny Cash in the film, Walk the Line, plans to pursue a career as a hip-hop musician.
Phoenix has already been seen cutting his teeth on-stage, dropping rhymes in a horrible-quality viral video shot at a Vegas nightclub. After much mumbling and other unintelligible audio, Phoenix stumbles and falls off-stage. Inauspicious starts will not daunt him, though.
“Might I be ridiculous?” said Phoenix in a recent Huffington Post article. “Might my career in music be laughable? Yeah, that’s possible, but that’s certainly not my intention.”
According to Phoenix, now long-haired and scraggly-bearded, his most recently completed film, Two Lovers, will be his last. He plans to throw all of his efforts into hip-hop from this point forward, sink or swim.
