Joaquin Phoenix's pseudo-retirement turned pseudo-new career in rap music is quickly becoming little more than a series of performative, on-camera antics being compiled for the inevitability that will be the release of his Casey Affleck-directed, future mock-rapumentary.

Indeed, in Phoenix's latest "musical performance", if it can even be assessed as such — he took to the stage, spit a few bars, hollered and cursed, then got into an apparent verbal altercation with a heckler (see below) that led him to jump off stage to throw a few punches.

It's all just getting a little tired.

Phoenix cut out his poor man's Andy Kaufman attempts at ironic Hollywood performance art and, if he's really interested in building a new legacy, record an album that people will actually listen to.

That might be his last chance at leaving a respectable legacy.

What do you think? Do you believe Joaquin is really retiring from acting? Do you think he'll make it as a rapper?

Joaquin Phoenix has added another chapter to his wacky post-acting saga. The aspiring rapper got into quite a scuffle, which ended his Miami Beach club performance prematurely.

The 34-year-old star took the stage at LIV nightclub at Fontainebleau just before 2 a.m. with the scruffy and unkempt beard he's been sporting of late. Shortly after he began rapping and nodding his head to a beat provided by the DJ, a man in the audience began to mock Phoenix.

That's when Phoenix lost his cool, calling out the man and cursing. "We have a f******* b**** in the audience," he said, continuing to bob his head. "I've got a million dollars in the bank. What have you got, b****?"

Then he dove into the audience, but it wasn't to crowd surf.

As Phoenix attempted to get in the face of his heckler, security swarmed the star and eventually dragged him from the club, ending the show not long before it began.

All the while, brother-in-law Casey Affleck's curious camera continued to roll.

Joaquin is being a little puke. People should shun him at this point, news and Hollywood should never mention this stupid puke's name again.

I love Joaquin Phoenix. he,s a great actor and has a beautiful voice. Country is his calling though, not rapp.
