Romance with John Tesh Revealed in Kitty Kelley 'Oprah' Biography

In an all new Oprah tell-all biography written by Kitty Kelley, it is revealed that Oprah allegedly had a romance with singer John Tesh in the 1970s. The unauthorized biography claims that the two lived together in Tennessee. Oprah and Tesh? Who would have thought.

In the 1970s in Nashville, where they were both working in broadcast television, Winfrey and Tesh, the future “Entertainment Tonight” host and easy listening troubadour, were an item and even shared an apartment.

According to an excerpt from the book, the couple eventually parted ways because Tesh was unable to handle the social pressures of dating a black woman. John Tesh dumped Oprah!

Oprah's Unauthorized Biography

The unauthorized Oprah book by Kitty Kelley isn't winning the author any friends. Oprah's people have declined to comment on the book, and Oprah's peers have refused to publicize the book -- David Letterman, Barbara Walters and Larry King have all refused to have Kelley on their shows.

The Tesh romance isn't the only thing Kelley reveals in the book. She denies a lesbian romance between Oprah and her best friend Gayle, a rumor that has circulated for a long time. Kelley claims Oprah isn't gay, only a-sexual, and that the Queen of All Media pours all of her time and effort into her career.

Oprah announced that she will be ending the Oprah Winfrey Show in 2011, and that she has begun working on a late night show.
