John Travolta's Two Dogs Were Killed in an Accident at Bangor Airport in Maine

In what appears to be a freak accident, John Travolta, his wife Kelly Preston and their daughter Ella lost their two family dogs last Thursday when they were struck and killed at Bangor International Airport in Maine.

According to a report issued by the city of Bangor says that on Thursday May 13 at around 1am, an airplane with the Travolta family members on board landed at Bangor International Airport. After landing the two dogs (who were described as small dogs but gave no further description beyond that and no photo has been provided) were taken for a walk so that they could stretch their legs after the flight. It was not a family member who took them for a walk however.

At approximately 1 a.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2010 an airplane carrying members of the John Travolta family landed at BIA [Bangor International Airport in Maine]."

An airport service pickup truck was working in the area and was approaching the plane to perform maintenance. Unfortunately the driver did not see the two dogs and stuck and killed them.

“The airport takes safety very seriously,” said airport director Rebecca Hupp earlier today. “Clearly, this is an unfortunate accident. Our deepest sympathies are with the family.”

The Travolta family has not made a statement at this time.

This tragedy comes after Jett Travolta, the couple's 16-year-old son, died in 2009 in the Bahamas.
