Jon Stewart Responds to Rick Sanchez Comments on The Daily Show

Jon Steward got his chance to swing back at Rick Sanchez during Monday night's broadcast of The Daily Show. Stewart went easy on Sanchez, actually. Jon Stewart lamented the fact that, since The Daily Show doesn't tape on Fridays, there was no way that Rick Sanchez would survive the weekend at CNN to still be affiliated with the network come Monday.

Indeed, Sanchez was fired on the Friday. After finding out that Rick Sanchez was fired for dissing his own bosses and Jon Stewart, along with claiming that Jews controlled the media, Stewart did not air the entirety of the video clip he and his team had prepared. Instead, viewers saw a clip of Rick Sanchez footage interspersed with Steve Carell's The Office character Michael Scott.

Jon Stewart said, "Carell is leaving The Office, NBC is looking to replace him. Sanchez is available."

Meanwhile, Suzanne Sanchez wrote on her Facebook page that Rick Sanchez had personally apologized to Jon Stewart, who called Sanchez "thin-skinned".
