Debby Boone You light up my life

Songwriter Joseph Brooks, best known as the composer of the Debbie Boone hit "You Light Up My Life," has been charged with sexual assault.

Brooks is accused of two rapes, sodomy, and two sexual assaults. The 70-year-old Brooks, who won an Academy Award in the 1970s for "You Light Up My Life," would apparently lure women with his so-called Hollywood connections. Brooks would allegedly contact women through Craigslist postings promising to offer roles in his next movie.

In reality, Brooks is hardly the most connected guy in Hollywood. Much of Brooks' success came writing commercial jingles for Pepsi and Geritol.

Brooks is expected to turn himself into authorities.
