Los Angeles Judge Marsha Revel Sentences Lindsay Lohan To 90 Days Jail, video

Lindsay Lohan is going to jail for 90 Days.

Lindsay Lohan missed her court ordered alcohol treatment program at least nine times the court heard on the actress' probation hearing on Tuesday. That fact and a combination of other violation led Judge Marsha Revel to impose the 90 day jail sentence on Lindsay Lohan.

The 90 day Lohan jail sentence actually breaks down into 3 consecutive 30 day sentences for various alcohol and drug related driving offences and for probation violations.

In addition, the terms of Lohan's probation include: a prohibition of drinking alcohol and mandatory treatment for alcohol abuse.

The judge allowed Lindsay Lohan to surrender in two weeks so the actress can get her affairs in order.

Lohan started sobbing and crying after hearing her sentence while her lawyer pleaded with the judge to remove the electronic monitoring device.  The judge said the SCRAM bracelet would only be removed when Lindsay Lohan surrenders in two weeks to serve her 90 day sentence.

Lindsay Lohan was supposed to attend an alcohol treatment program at least once a week without exceptions but the court heard on Tuesday that didn't happen.

Judge Marsha N. Revel was critical of program operator Cheryl Marshall for failing to report Lohan's absences to the court before the actress had her bail revoked when the alarm on her alcohol monitoring device was triggered on June 6. That was the same night that Lohan attended the MTV Music Awards.

Under questions from the prosecutor, Marshall told the court that Lohan did not sign in on some days the program claimed she had attended and that her signature was on a sign-in sheet on a day she did not attend. Marshall revealed Lohan never attended group meetings but opted for one-on-one sessions because of privacy concerns.

In fact, one witness said Lindsay was disrespectful and filled with excuses, yet for some reason officials from the Right On program never notified the judge.

The judge clearly has no patience for Lindsay and prosecutor Danette Meyers is going after LiLo with a vengeance.

In sentencing judge Marsha Revel went through the court's previous orders and it became crystal clear that the judge had lost patience with Lindsay Lohan's treatment violations.

The judge ruled that Lindsay Lohan was in clear violation of her probation.

An emotional Lindsay Lohan appealed to the judge

"my schedule is unfortunately very different and they (treatment councilors) were willing to work with me on that, having said that I did everything I was told to do.... balancing jobs and showing up...(cries). I know I was ordered to go once a week but I was working...(cries). I wanted to make sure that I would come back and make you happy (cries) ... as far as I knew I was in compliance. I am not taking this as a joke it is my life. I take my responsibility for my actions. I don't want you think that I don't respect you and your terms. "

The defense attorney Shawn Chapman Holley asked for a year long extension of Lindsay Lohan's probation and that Lohan would continue with drug and alcohol testing.

The prosecuting attorney Danette Meyers, said Lohan has repeatedly violated court orders and asked for at least 30 days in county jail and the wearing of an electronic monitoring device, known as a SCRAM device -  Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor

Lindsay Lohan is expected to start serving her 90 day jail sentence starting July 20th. It is not unusual for these types of offences for inmates of light offences to serve 25% of the sentence.

Outside the courthouse, Steve Whitmore, the LA County Sheriff's spokesperson said  a person of Lindsay Lohan's notoriety will likely be separated from the general prison population.

Lindsay Lohan will be serving her sentence at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California

People vs the society. Sometimes judges forget about life. Here's  the big pitcure. Life can be hard on people. For example 1930's depression, 1960's love and peace, and 1990's greed. I don't want to point  fingers and being high in life so much like I'm on a drug , however what I'm getting at people and the society do both wrong however differently but don't relize it. Too much of anything isn't good. I take it the judge is trying to get the message around that this is what will happen if you drink and do drugs. (Making people who really need narcotics for pain like cancer , aids etc. tougher for them to get there medications. "stress".) To make a long story short. We got our blacks, 30's to the 60's, gays, 60's to the 90's and junkies 90's to 2010. The question is? Is this a really good idea. It's not like she went and killed someone. And don't tell me she could have (maybe from drinking and driving however she didn't. The judge could run over someone by his driving but do you see him going for jail or is he just being greedy from his power trip. I'm sorry to say this but reading to much books isn't good either. It's like doing drugs. It feels like the judge hangs out with the Jehovah witness. I don't even like L.L acting however is she being labeled as a monster for hanging out and drinking. There is alot worse people out there.  How is the judge any better than she is. Linsday Lohan probablly gives more money to the needy than the judge. (maybe) ?" I'm not a monster I'm just a human being ".....  The Elaphant Man
