Tonight's the night! the 2009 Juno Awards will be presented at GM Place in Vancouver, BC. Comedian Russell Peters will host the event, which begins at 5pm PDT. As the show won't be aired live in all time zones, check the Juno listings page to make sure you don't miss a single moment as the Canadian music industry convenes to honor its own.

Most of the awards were already handed out at a private ceremony last night. Kardinal Offishal's Dangerous took Single of the Year, driven by airwave ubiquity over the summer.

The televised element of the awards will mainly showcase performances (including Sam Roberts, Divine Brown and Bryan Adams) and the Fan Choice award.

(I'm a huge believer in promoting local talent and building out the local entertainment industry, in all of its facets... even if that means Nickelback)
