Justin Bieber Manager Scott Bruan Was Arrested For Not Announcing the Cancellation of a Public Appearance By the Teen Star at a New York Shopping Mall. Should Scott Braun Have Been Arrested?

Scott Braun, the manager of teen pop star Justin Bieber was arrested for not warning fans about overcrowding at a public appearance at a shopping mall in New York.

Why Was Justin Bieber Manager Scott Braun Arrested?

Police say they asked Braun to announce that Justin Bieber would not appear at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Winston Park, NY back in November. Authorities asked for the event to be stopped because they were worried about overcrowding.

Braun allegedly failed to announce the cancellation via Twitter until 90 minutes later, an oversight that could have caused a disaster, according to police.

Scott Braun pleaded not guilty to charges including reckless endangerment as well as charges of criminal nuisance and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say five people were treated for minor injuries after the incident. Scott Braun's slow reaction may have contributed to the problem.

Police said they had trouble gaining control of the crowd, in part, because of a message posted on Justin Bieber's Twitter page which read: "On my way to Roosevelt Field Mall in Long Island, New York, to sign and meet fans. I'm pumped. See you there."

When police asked Scott Braun to post a message telling people not to come, Braun reportedly didn't comply and changed the password on the Justin Bieber Twitter account so none of his staff could make an announcement either.

What Did Justin Bieber Say About His Manager Being Arrested?

Bieber said in a statement that he and "my mother are 100% behind my manager".

Beiber then added, that Scott Braun "is someone of high moral character and principle. The decisions he made that day were to protect the safety of myself and my fans."
