Justin Bieber Turns 18, Talks Tattoos & New Album
He’s having a great day as an official 18-year-old, and Justin Bieber called into Ryan Seacrest’s radio show to give an update on his crazy life.
Regarding the rumors that he was getting an inner-lip tattoo, the “Baby” singer explained, “No, no, no, no. I think they wash out in like a year anyway. I don’t know if I’d go through the pain of getting one on my lip.”
And while he loves Selena Gomez, they’re not betrothed yet- “First and foremost, I’m not engaged. You know, we’re still young, at this moment in time, this is where I am, so that’s all I can really say.”
On the topic of his new album, Justin shared, “We’ve been working with a lot of cool people and just trying to create the best sound for me. I’m now 18 and I’m going to be trying to get an older audience, as well as keeping my younger audience, but just making that good music that everybody can like and vibe to. I’ve been in the studio working with a bunch of different people like Timbaland, Pharrell, and just a bunch of cool people. But, then we’re trying to work with people that people aren’t familiar with. So, that we create something completely different as well. So, we’re making the best album we can.”
Bieber is also spending time developing Carly Rae Jepson’s musical career. “Right now, I am focusing on one [artist] at a time and making sure that I focus on one person, that’s what Usher did with me, was focus on me and he helped me tremendously. So, I am only looking at my mentor and trying to do my best.”
Celebrating the big 1-8, Justin Bieber will be riding in style as an official adult, as his manager got him a Fisker Karma for his birthday.
The “Never Say Never" star appeared on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” today where he was presented with the premium luxury hybrid sports sedan.
Manager Scooter Braun told Justin, "You work really really hard. I always yell at you, 'Don't get anything flashy!' You know, we're not about that. Be humble, be humble. And I kind of broke my own rule."
"We wanted to make sure, since you love cars, that when you're on the road you are always environmentally friendly. And we decided to get you a car that would make you stand out … I think you know where I'm going, and you're kind of freaking out right now. That's a Fiskar Karma."
Taking a break from the studio to spend time with his gal, Justin Bieber treated Selena Gomez to a romantic afternoon in Los Angeles on Saturday (February 25).
The "One Time" hitmaker and his "Who Says" singing girlfriend were joined by a group of friends as they made their way over to Sushi Dan a some tasty Japanese lunch.
Once filled up, the young couple continued along with their Oscar weekend date by heading to the Sherman Oaks galleria for a matinee movie.
The outing comes as Miss Gomez spent the previous night at the 5th Annual Women In Film Pre-Oscar Cocktail Party at Cecconi's.
While there, the 19-year-old chatted with E! News about her new tattoo - explaining that it isn't a little heart as widely reported.
"It's a music note," she said. "Everybody thought it was a heart, but it's a little music note."
Further explaining the meaning behind the ink job, Selena dished, "I was named after a singer and music obviously is a big influence for me. And there's music stuff with my mom that means a lot to me, too."
Meanwhile, in legal news concerning the Biebs, the 18-year-old crooner's lawsuit against RC3 games (the company behind the ‘Joustin Beaver’ game) has been countered by the the defendants, who say they have a First Amendment right to parody the pop star.
As a result, RC3 is demanding a declaration from Bieber’s camp stating that they haven’t misrepresented Justin’s trademark or misappropriated his name.
