Kal Penn, Also Known As Kalpen Modi When Working for Obama and the White House, Was Robbed in Washington DC
Kal Penn was walking near his home in Washington DC at around 1:30am on Tuesday morning when he was robbed at gunpoint and had some of his personal effects stolen from him. Penn told authorities that a man approached him, drew a gun and then took his wallet along with a few other personal items.
According to MSNBC, the incident is being described as a 'basic street robbery' and Kal Penn has not commented on the robbery.
Multiple calls to Penn's rep were not returned.
The police have launched an investigation but it is not known if they have any leads or even a description of the man who committed the robbery.
Kal Penn has been working for the Obama Administration and the White House in Washington DC and it is his job to make sure Obama has a connection to the art world and the Asian-American and Pacific communities in America.
That job will end this year when he will start filming another Harold and Kumar movie.
Kal Penn also appeared in the television drama show House, where he played the likeable Dr. Kutner who committed suicide on the show about a year ago, shocking fans and audiences alike. He did this so that he could work for the Obama administration.
