Last week at the American Music Awards Kanye West said "I want to be better than Elvis."  Now he's comparing Beyonce to 69 year old queen of Rock, saying "...she's probably greater than Tina Turner."  He's not just creating controversy for himself, he's doing it for others as well.  I'm not quite sure this is the type of publicity that Beyonce would appreciate.

While I think both Kanye West and Beyonce have the potential to become the greats of this era, neither has yet dealt with what it takes to be a legend, and that is Longevity.

What's your opinion?  Is he being disrespectful?  Do you think he likes to create a buzz?

By the way, Tina Turner is on a North American tour right now.

Beyoncé is better than Tina Turner! Well that what Kanye West reportedly exclaimed to reporters in New Zealand. “She is just as great, if not greater, than artists we had in the past…she’s probably greater than Tina Turner,” West said, according to singerroom.

While high praises are always welcomed, even from someone prone to knuckle-headed hyperbole as West, but the statement almost seems like a stunt, as if he’s trying to start somethin’ between Tina and Beyoncé.

Beyoncé already got in trouble with Aretha Franklin for reading a script that introduced Tina as “the Queen” before their riveting performance at this year’s Grammy award show. Now it seems that outside forces are pitting a very appreciative Beyoncé against one of her mentors.

It may be wise to leave the made stars alone and let other draw their own conclusions. This may actually be a set back or could even be his down fall as well as Beyonce.

Kanye's a musical genius. He's also good at stoking up flames in the media. It ain't just musical instruments he's playing....

But ah, no Kanye - Tina is a legend.  Let's not put the Beyonce cart ahead of the horse just yet ;-)

Tina, Beyoncé... There's no comparison between the two. They are both successful in their own right..

I love Beyonce and Jay-z both so much! I just happened to come across this photo while browsing the web! Jay-z is from Marcy Project's and I'm from Kingsborough Projects a couple block's down from where he lived in Brooklyn N.Y.! So we have alot in common it's a hard knock life! Especially,in Brooklyn you have to live there to truly understand where I'm coming from! Enjoy the picture they look so happy! Don't you agree? ConfidentFoxyLeo!

The way I see it, is that Kanye West is still a young man growing. Only life can teach him a lesson to know the difference between experience/longivity in music and maturity. Ego and ignorance is inflated by his fame and fortunes. Do you recall the time when MC Hammer! "can't touch this" said to news reporters at one time that he will compete one-to-one on stage with Michael Jackson to prove he is the "best in the World?"

Where is he today? Talk is very cheap and I symphathize with Kanye West, fame and loud talk will soon be a thing of the past, like a candle blown by the wind. He will live to swallow his pride, pride does come before a downfall - just like MC Hammer, "nobody wants to touch him". Tina Tiner is a solid rock of Gold she's been to hell and back and has the will power and inner serentiy to stand yet another test of time, should all hell break lose.

She is pretty great I have to say but that better then Tina there is nothing origianl about beyonce, her fashion are taken from alot of all movies from back in the days and so are her songs and what she doing with it its great no dout but please stop copying other people materials.. Kanye West he is too much for me he needs to start investing his money I dont think his career will last.
