Karl Stefanovic's Long Stabby Thing Leads to 'Whacking Off from a Distance'

In discussing how to deal with burglars, Channel 9's Today co-anchor Karl Stefanovic mentions that he keeps a "large, stabby thing", near his bed, and begins cracking himself (and his co-hosts) up. Co-host Lisa Wilkinson mentioned keeping a "swordy thing" handy. The conversation only spirals from there, as newsreader Georgie Gardner describes her partner Tim as her "long, stabby thing". Delivering a straight-faced double entendre is apparently a prerequisite for working in Australian news TV. At this point, Karl Stefanovic's eyes are watering.

However, when Ben Fordham espouses the virtues of the golf club for home defence, saying, "I want to be standing back and whacking them off from a distance", Stefanovic just loses it, and has to leave the set in tears of laughter. Fordham made an equally hasty retreat.
