Kate Gosselin Made Her Debut on Dancing With The Stars on March 22 and Here We Have the Video and What the Judges Said of Kate's Performance

Kate Gosselin and her partner Tony Dovolani danced a Viennese waltz for the Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) debut, and although many eyes were on Gosselin as she sashayed around the dance floor, the couple only earned 16 points overall, which were the third lowest scores of the night.

Before dancing, Kate (with her new hair), described herself as 'a mom of eight, who just happens to be on TV.'

Clips before her dancing showed her struggling with learning the dance and looking downcast at times, and also expressing doubt in herself and her abilities. She dedicated her performance to 'all the moms out there.'

What Did the Judges Have to Say About Kate's Performance?

Len Goodman said Kate seemed overly nervous:

“The first dance is like your first date — you don’t know what to expect, you want to impress and you’re nervous — and I think that was the stumbling block for you,” Len Goodman told her. “You’ve got to get over that nervousness and just come out and enjoy the experience.”

Bruno Tonioli was much more harsh:

You have to learn to perform. Assume a character. It looked like Tony was pushing a shopping cart around the floor

Carrie Ann Inaba however was predictably sweet and supportive:

You’re very different than a lot of the other people on the show. You’re not a performer. You’re not an athlete, so all of this — every single aspect of it of this — is new to you,” Carrie Ann Inaba said. “I really am impressed. There was a sweet vulnerability to what you were doing and an honesty that resonates with people
