Katy Perry and Russell Brand Get Engaged in India

According to US Weekly, Katy Perry and notorious playboy Russell Brand are officially engaged; Russell apparently popped the question in India where they are on vacation five days ago and Katy said yes. Another celebrity couple Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood are also engaged apparently.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand however have been dating since September and the couple have been open about their relationship, including posting pictures from their India trip such as this one in front of the Taj Mahal.

Russell took Katy to India after she told him she likes Indian cooking.

Their relationship was thrust in to the limelight when Katy Perry wore underpants on stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards with the name 'Rusty' on them.

Of their romance, a friend tells Us that Perry has "never connected with anybody like this." As for Brand, the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star "is super into her. She says he makes her laugh like nobody else in the world," an insider says.
