Katy Perry Sesame Street Song Pulled for Being Too Sexy
Katy Perry & Elmo: Too Sexy for Sesame Street
Katy Perry's Sesame Street version of "Hot and Cold" will not air on Sesame Street as originally planned. Parents have been complaining that Katy Perry's outfit was too sexy, showing too much cleavage.
The powers that be on Sesame Street say that the Katy Perry-Elmo video will stay up on Youtube, where it's racking up pageviews like crazy.
Still, good luck finding the Katy Perry-Elmo duet directly on Sesame Street's Youtube channel: it seems to have been pulled from there, too. This being Youtube, though, the video has replicated far and wide; a simple search for "katy perry sesame street" will find the Elmo-fied version of "Hot and Cold", whose lyrics reflect Elmo flaking on a play-date.
Katy Perry, lamenting her cancelled playdate, made sure the video was available on katyperry.com, via her own Youtube channel.
At any rate, the video is visible below. You be the judge: is Katy Perry too sexy for Sesame Street?
The vid has had over 1 million hits online since it hit the web on Monday and has had thousands of comments ranging from the positive to negative.
We don't remember Fiest's excellent version of "1,2,3,4" drawing this much ire. Perhaps counting monsters and penguins just isn't as controversial as it used to be.

Yeah, she's definitely not dressed appropriately for a pre-school show. I don't know what they were thinking.

I disagree with that Manny. Like I said in today's society children see much worst. Also think about this. "Why do girls show cleavage?" One thing is they can't walk around shirtless like guys so they would rather be cooled in that manner. Also what three- five year old would care about cleavage that much. They would be too focus on the song. I think it is only the warp minds of some people who view it that way ,unless their child was raise to think that way. Also I have seen this mentioned before: What about Barbies (You can take their clothes off) or Miss Piggy (Who wore a similarly revealing clothes.) If you say these are too revealing.... Two words.
