‘Kavi Sammelan’ held at Oak Grove School

MUSSOORIE, 26 Oct: As part of Diwali celebrations, a Hindi Kavi Sammelan was held at the Oak Grove School Auditorium, today, in which eminent poets from around the region participated. They read out their verses along with the students of the school in front of a large gathering of students, staff and invited guests.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was Jot Singh Gunsola along with invited guests Dr RS Shukla, Dr Panwar, Dr Ganesh Saili, Dr SC Garg, DrNaveen Chand Tripathi, Dr Chauhan and Dr Pramod Bharti.
The event was presided over by OP Uniyal, President, Mussoorie Nagar Palika. Dr Pramod Bharti welcomed the Chief Guest and the poets on the occasion.
The Kavi Sammelan was coordinated by Dr Munish Pandey and he invited poets Vipin Bihari ‘Suman’, Dr.Ram Vinay Singh, Tanvir Chisti, Dr Laksmi Bhatt, Roshan Lal Aggarwal to recited their poems. Dr Pramod Bharti said he was glad that the poets were at the school to exhibit their literary prowess in front of the students and invited guests.
The poets enlivened the audience with the jugglery of words and magic of literary creativity.
The hall came alive with the couplets in the Haryanavi dialect by eminent poet Roshan Lal.The audience was filled with joy by the satire, wit and humour shown in his verses.
Dr Suman read out verses on national integration and Unity in diversity. Dr.Laxmi Bhatt’s satire on mobile phones in Garhwali was also much appreciated by the gathered audience.
The students of the school also read out their compositions which were liked by the guests and the eminent poets, who were of the view that under the able guidance of the principal, who himself was a literary person, the talent could be nourished. Dr Munish Pandey said that the poetry came from compassion. In his verses he touched the issue of senior citizens. Dr Suman read out verses from his ballad on Diwali befitting to the occasion. Purus Dubey, Ankruti Pandey, Aviral Kumar, Vivek Kumar, Shrishti, and Yogendhar Bharti enthralled the audience with their creative talent.
Manmohan Singh Mall, former Nagar Palika President, said on the occasion that it was a noble effort to organise such program on the eve of the Diwali festival. He commended the efforts of the organisers and thanked them for the invitation.
Chief Guest Jot Singh Gunsola said that that it was his privilege to be amidst such eminent scholars and he was glad that the principal of the school Anurag Tripathi was a literary person himself. He appreciated the efforts of the Principal in upgrading and turning the school into an international class institution.
Dr RS Shukla also announced that Dr Pramod Bharti would be serving as Principal at Jamalpur and would be leaving Mussoorie soon. He said that the faculty at the college was sad but delighted at his promotion.
OP Uniyal appreciated the performance of the poets and especially the budding poets. The Principal thanked all for making the event a grand success.
