People from the small former Portuguese colony of Goa on the West Coast of India are on the verge of being over run by the large Indian population, that pours into the tiny touristy state, mostly looking for work. With a large inflow of migrant population, Goan culture is on the wayne, its favorite sport, soccer loosing in popularity, its culture and food are on their last leg. Even its other pastime, bullfighting is now banned.
With a growing number of Goans moving to the UK or Canada, every year Goans round the world celebrate World Goa Day. Its a coming together of peoples of Goan origin, to share food, stories, make a connection or two.
Here are pictures from the World Goa Day picnic at Parc Angrignon in Montreal.
