While America's Got Talent has yet to produce a breakout star like Britain's Got Talent's Susan Boyle, some see potential in contestant Kevin Skinner. A chicken catcher by trade, Skinner brought the crowd to its feet during the third episode of America's Got Talent.
Just like Boyle, Kevin Skinner was originally the subject of mockery as the audience and judges laughed at his Southern accent and ratty clothes. But the laughter turned to cheers once he began to sing.
Skinner's version of Garth Brooks' hit If Tomorrow Never Comes earned him a standing ovation. Judges David Hasselhoff and Sharon Osborne were moved by the song. Fellow judge Piers Morgan referred to it as "one of the most powerful, emotional performances I've seen in a long time."

I am not a country music fan but do enjoy some country music and really like the "can you duet show" currently on cw station. This man brought me to tears...that was just maginficent. and I will have to buy an album...if he doesnt win, someone will need to sign him quickly!

He's great. Nothing fancy just a real person I'm so sick of what we have for "talent" these days. Someone sign him up and record him. I'd be happy to buy his music.

No one was laughing at him.
He was funny. He meant to be funny and was.
The accent, the chicken catcher line.
The look on peoples' faces was people laughing with him not at him.
Piers was acting. He knows what country singer are supposed to look like.
But poor Kevin got the Piers JINX "you can win this thing" is that what he said to Susan?
"Please Piers, I beg you don't say that to me!!!!"

Kevin I you were fantastic, you have too win. What's extraordinary about your performance was how honest you looked like you were feeling the words. Not to mention you took everyone by surprise. I'm praying you win . Fantastic performance this is better than American Idol.... real performances
