Weekend musings inspired me to look up photos of body art - leading me to this tid-bit of news. Breaking the world record in number of tattoos done in 24 hours.
More than just body art - I came across the idea of "tongue tattoos"... Imagine flashes of colour when speaking, very mysterious indeed. Would that be more appealing than getting one on the arm for the world to see?
A Key West tattoo artist will try to break the world record for the most tattoos in a 24-hour period.
The current record is 415 tattoos. To break it, John Paul Bertrand and other tattoo artists at Key West Ink will give away free tattoos starting at 2 p.m. Thursday. Shop owner Jim McAlhany says that it's a perfect time to try to break the record because a lot of people are in town for Fantasy Fest - an annual 10-day festival.
Bertrand must complete a tattoo about every three minutes to challenge the record. To do that, the shop will pre-stencil tattoos on waiting patrons.
The current record is held by Oliver Peck of Dallas, Texas. Peck took the record from his ex-wife, Kat Von D, of the popular TV show "LA Ink."

jessica.lam, I like this story. It's good stuff.
I'm sorry, but I wouldn't want to be part of the group that gets a 3 min tat. I have 23 of them as it is and I know that to get it done and done right and to have it not look like crap, it'll take longer than 3 minutes.

These tattoos on this motorcycle taxi driver serve mostly a protective function, apparently to shield him from harm. They are hard to see, but he has also got some decorative tattoos on both of his upper arms. So he combines traditional tattoos in Thailand with the current fad of decorative tattoos.

i did this about 10 yrs ago and the tattoo only stayed in for like 5 mo.Got a good pic though.

i am the individual attempting the world record i have done a few trial runs it is a conch shell and they turn out quite nice...i guess i wont please everyone and thats ok.. many people here in key west are behind me.. have a great day!!! one human family

when you want a tattoo you muight as well get done by the best and that is John -paul Bertrand ,he can give you a tattoo in 3 min,s better than some who take hrs. Good luck John-Paul kick ass.
