This appeared on the back fence of a house backing on to a park in North Fitzroy. I'm sure it was a kids' project for the school holidays. When I first saw this mural from the tram heading home from work, I was struck by the cheery scene on that gloomy wet evening. There was also a rainbow in the sky, and for just a moment, the real and painted rainbows were visible together.

When I first saw this mural from the tram heading home from work, I was struck by the cheery scene on that wet evening. There was also a real rainbow in the sky, and for just a moment the real and painted rainbows were visible together, and that put a big smile on my face.
A couple of days later, Melbourne had a huge storm, with gale force winds that caused much damage and led to two deaths. An electricity linesman was also killed in the aftermath, repairing downed electricity cables. I published this photo in my blog post on the storm hoping it would cheer up those who have suffered damage in the storm, or damage and inconvenience from the power outage, and as a cheerio to those who worked hard to clean up after and get the electricity back on.
