Thanks for posting this- what a bizarre story. I found a text account as well, excerpted below.

Once in Kiddie Village, they encountered a large group preparing to eat dinner. A woman asked them to put their guns away. She was immediately arrested for interfering with a law officer, and placed on the ground. People demanded her release. At some point, officers apprehended the original suspect. One officer stepped backward onto the arrested woman. Thinking she had tripped the officer, three Forest Service agents began beating her. The dinner crowd loudly demanded they stop. The 10 officers opened fire wildly in Kiddie Village, shooting pepper-filled (like pepper spray) ammo at specific people as well as indiscriminately firing and hitting others. People screamed and shouted. The officers pointed a Taser point-blank into the face of a journalist who was showing his credentials. His presence may have prevented the officers from using greater force. Alarmed parents, hearing the shots, came running into Kiddie Village. Trained Rainbow peacekeepers formed a line, with their backs to the feds, separating them from the growing crowd. The feds shot these peacekeepers in the back with pepper-filled balls. One man alleges he was hit eight times. According to his testimony, when he turned around to ask why they were shooting him while he was trying to help them, they shot him four more times in the chest.

Where do we pick up our credentials?

Rainbow Gatherings are always considered suspect by locals and police. Talk about profiling! In any area they are going to gather, longhairs, goths, people in vans, old campers, etc. are constantly harrassed, stopped and searched. Not surprised the cops invaded their camp, But am shocked they invaded, opened fire and assaulted people right in the Kiddie Village.
You can google for more information on Rainbow Tribe or Gathering.

I had a look at the video. Disturbing stuff. It's very rare to see an Australian police officer with their weapon drawn. There are very strict rules of engagement.

The rules of engagement appear very different in the US.

"A woman asked them to put their guns away."

???..... brilliant! Confronting the police, getting in their face, telling them what to do is more like it. Then slowly surrounding them, cursing and yelling, the crowd growing angry, hundreds of people approaching the police... simply brilliant. Lucky they walked away with only a few welts....

"THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!"

lol!! Research the rainbows- particularly the "A" (alchohol) camp incidents..

this information is to be noted, and more people who have any kind of Valid reporting credentials, from Internet blogging sites as well, or web news sites are legitimate "news sources", not just hard copy papers any more...

should bring a BADGE and wear it at all time, just in case, easy to do.

assume many have cell phones that can record as well photo...and recorders as 'evidence' is always helpful just in case any harm occurs, which is not usual either or I would not be attending for sure !

can anyone remove the offensive comments repeated about enjoying the difficulties experienced by others at the gathering as displayed above? these kind of mean statements are made by unhealthy mentally disturbed hatefilled people who want to provoke others, to get attention for their cruel comments...however even when they dont succedd as they fantasize, they are not necessary, especially more than 1 posting....

any monitors here at this site ?

those who cannot be helpful, cooperative, collaborative, positive and flexible are going to crack up in hard rock anyhow, but meanwhile they are reflecting the 'part' of us all that we can deny entry into action.

peace thru art and music is the best way to get Here !

rereading the ways "good stuff" is identified above, is misleading upon quick reading..it sounds like the content info is 'good' instead of disturbing...but if the posters mean they want to know more about these matters, another kind of 'clicking' should be available that states more clearly what is "good" and what is "stuff"...

like "wanna know more " or "helpful info" instead of slang that misleads ...

like who reads slowly carefully and gets any sleep any more ? huh ?

so I misunderstood those who were 'glad' to read about bad happenings which is also not the right words to describe that experience, I think.

let's be clear and specific instead of gibberishly general please ! even hippies are educated and word fluent too.

Had I been there, things would have had to of escalated. This looks like Kent State, OHIO. The video demonstrates what goes wrong with law enforcement in the US all to often. If they were intellectual enough to be cultured as to what a Rainbow gathering is then maybbe they would have been able to act more effectively towards their intended purpose. It seem apparent that they entered that area with the intentions to start something down the path of destruction. I would have been very frightened had I been there. Watching it scares me enough to want to get involved. The Governnent deserves to hear at least one  letter on the matter.
