Kindergarten Killer is a flash media game geared towards tweens and teens, and in the wake of the Finland school shooting earlier this month, a Finnish children's gaming site has pulled the tasteless cyber-toy from its server.

The game's mission statement is simple, "get inside the kindergarten and shoot down those pesky little kids with your shotgun, avoid getting killed by them."  This has to be a sick joke!! Why would such a game even be invented, let alone marketed to kids?

Still available online from other tween focused game sites, the Kindergarten Killer game is sure to renew calls for tighter monitoring of online games.   On one site that still serves Kindergarten Killer, the "author" of the flash media game has removed his/her profile.  It now redirects to a 404 error page - "page not found."  If I had created a game like this, I wouldn't want to be found either!  The creator/author should stay in hiding and never design a single game again.

If you think this is nothing more than silly hysteria about a game, take a look at the Kindergarten Killer YouTube video attached to this article; and as you watch it remember the victims of the many school shootings around the world.  This sick game is still hosted on some sites that cater to kids (these sites will remain nameless but shameful), and as you can see, it is far from a cute little online toy.

An internet game in which players roam a school and kill pupils with a shotgun has been withdrawn from a Finnish children's gaming site a week after the country's most deadly school shooting.

"We have removed pages from our site that are not necessarily appropriate for younger family members," lastenpelit.fi said in a statement on its website, after removing access to the game, Kindergarten Killer.

Last week a 22-year-old student, Matti Saari, killed 10 people at a vocational school in Kauhajoki, Finland, in the country's second school shooting in less than a year.

Saari prefaced his rampage with boastful video clips on YouTube.

Finnish student Pekka-Eric Auvinen did the same before shooting to death six fellow students, the school nurse and the principal at Jokela high school last November.

Both Saari and Auvinen shot themselves following their rampages and died later from their injuries.

Tina Kells, I like this story. It's good stuff. Thanx for attaching the youtube clips Tina. This is by far the worst game ever created.

Tina Kells, I like this story. It's good stuff.  Utterly sick.  Anyone who markets this type of stuff should be open to prosecution.

Good stuff. What kind of mind would come up with that?

Get real, it's just an interactive cartoon. There are far more violent and graphic games.

I have to agree with phoenix. But it's pretty unbelievable that there was a game like this in a site called lastenpelit.fi which means "children's games" in english.
