Kris Krug and I will be at the Beijing Olympics from August 4th until August 17th (he's off on the 14th cos his visa expires)
We will be speaking at symposium on the Olympics, our panel is on New Media at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. I will certainly write a piece about this 4 day conference.
I'll be watching some world class fencing (it's always been one of my dreams to see Olympic fencing and i got me 5 tickets, so I'll get to see Canada's Sherraine Schalm, one of the world best fencers and winner of the Fencing World cup in June)
We'll also be hanging out at the Canada House, just like we did in 2006 at the Torino Winter games..
We'll go tease our friends at the HBC store and catching up with local friends and peers!
I am looking forward to see what the fuss is all about.. Of course, I have been living in China for nearly a year, so it will be interesting to see how different Beijing gets under the world's watchful eyes!
Wanna know more?
Stay tuned for low quality pictures (I opted to not bring my professional photography gear since I am not an "official" photographer and wanted to avoid complications), But i hope to compensate with loads of videos and blog posts since the IOC doesn't recognize blogs as main stream reporting (as long as we don't cover official events.. Why would I CBC and the rest of the world will do a much better job anyway! )
and of course I will be a good boy and obey all Chinese and IOC guidelines, I'm not in Beijing to create troubles, I just want to experience this amazing event and culture first hand..
I'll be posting some updates on Facebook (yeah i know it's a closed platform, but I'm a fan and you can always add me as a friend, I don't bite.. well not often anyway!)

right on man, can't wait to see the artifacts you gather for another static montage of memorabilia from another Olympics. i think seeing canoeing would be pretty rad too ... though Canadians are allegedly strong in trampolining.
PS in case you missed it, i've starting documenting the Vancouver/Whistler 2010 competition venues as they finish up.
