Kliptown Freedon Square
Kliptown Freedom Square is a symbol of the struggle against oppression of Black People in South Africa during the reign of the Nationalist Party. All political heroes are honoured one way or other by the ANC Government to recoqnize their contribution in fighting this unjust system.
It is therefore, in memory and honour of a veteran ANC leader Mr. Walter Sisulu that it was named after. In this photo you can see these TALL pillars is part of Kliptown Freedom
Square Kliptwon is one of the oldest township and part of Soweto although somehow dilapidated, plans and work in progress for construction is underway by the Gauteng Local Government and the Province to upgrade the lifestyle of the community here. Already the housing developments plans have been implemented i.e. RDP houses near Klipspruit- Townhouse complexes near the Kliptown Station and Bond Houses in the Golf Course. Tourists should be shown some of these places, so that they can appreciate the progrss made since 1994. I know a friend of mine has a B&B in Pimville i.e. Robbie's Place near the Golf course. The place is magnificent. I will do a special profile on this spendid venue in the future. Keep watching this BLOG.
