Kua Etnika Art Community is founded i.a. by Djaduk Ferianto, Butet Kartaredjasa, and Purwanto in 1995, is a place where several artist, musician, poets and actors interact. Since the beginning, the supporters who gather here generally were born and grown up with traditional background (Javanese and Balinese), have temporaly and sporadicaly done creative interaction in many occasions. An this is the music of “kua etnika’ by Djaduk Ferianto, that is interaction of ethnic music, percussive with modern approach, and integrate them with electrical music. Kua Etnika feels it is necessary to create ethnic revitalisation as cultural and creative breakthrough in exploring ethnical music through new different approach and interpretation from the ones that existed. That means exploring ethnical music with modern touch, without losing its traditional root spirit.

Djaduk Ferianto apart of his career as dancer, pantomimer, musician, he has also formally studied painting arts in Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta, has been exploring craetive interaction in various sociaties from traditional to contemporary.
With Kua Etnika he has released albums entitled Nang Ning Nong “Orkes Sumpeg”, Ritus Swara, Uneg-Uneg, Many Skyn One Rhtym, Pata Jawa, Raised from the roots, breaking through border. Not to mention a single album “Quintes-sence” and religious music “ Tuhan Sumber Gembiraku” that has been indie-produced.

Djaduk Ferianto, is one of musician who always be restless and tries to fill any changes in Indonesia through his works!

La communauté Kua Etnika Art a été fondée par Djaduk Ferianto, Butet Kartaredjasa, et Purwanto en 1995. C'est un endroit où plusieurs artistes, poètes et acteurs interagissent les uns avec les autres. Depuis la création de cette communauté, les personnes qui s'y réunissent sont nés et ont grandi dans une culture traditionnelle, de Java et Bali et ont les personnes qui s'y réunissent sont nés et ont grandi dans une culture traditionnelle, de Java et Bali. Ils se sont produits dans différentes salles à travers le monde. Et tout cela donne Kua Etnika Art, par Djaduk Ferianto, c'est l'interaction d'une musique éthnique, percutante avec une approche moderne et intégrée à la musique électronique et intégrée à la musique électronique "claviers".

Kua Etnika Art a estimé qu'il était nécessaire de créer une revitalisation ethnique, une percée culturelle et créative, dans l'exploration de la musique ethnique à travers une nouvelle interprétation et une nouvelle approche, différentes de celles qui existaient. Cela implique d'explorer la musique traditionnelle et d'y ajouter un soupçon de modernité, mais sans en perdre l'esprit et les racines traditionnelles.

En plus de sa carrière de danseur, pantomime et musicien, Djaduk Ferianto a étudié la peinture à l'Institut Indonésien des Arts de Yogyakarta et a exploré l'interaction créative dans différentes cultures, qu'elles soient traditionnelles ou contemporaines. Avec Kua Etnika Art, il a sorti de nombreux albums: Nang Ning Nong “Orkes Sumpeg”, Ritus Swara, Uneg-Uneg, Many Skyn One Rhythm, Pata Jawa, Raised from the roots, Breaking through border. Sans mentionner l'album Quintes-sence et l'album de musique religieuse Tuhan Sumber Gembiraku, qui a été l'album de musique religieuse Tuhan Sumber Gembiraku, qui a été auto-produit.

Djaduk Ferianto est un musicien infatigable, très prolixe et qui suit de près tous les changements politiques en Indonésie et donne son point de vue, en utilisant parfois une légère ironie, à travers son travail !
