Kylie Minogue Has Announced Her New Album Aphrodite Will be Released in July 2010

Kylie Minogue announced that her new album Aphrodite will be released July 5 2010 and that her first single off the album, All The Lovers, will be released just a few days before, on June 28.

Kylie Minogue has said that she will be returning to her roots in pop music after taking a slight departure in her last album.

Calvin Harris will once again be collaborating with Kylie on her new album, along with Jake Shears from the Scissor Sisters', and Tim Rice-Oxley from Keane has also lent a hand.

When speaking about the new single All The Lovers, Kylie told NME:

"The single was one of the last tracks to be written for the album. As I was recording it I knew that 'All The Lovers' had to be the first single; it sums up the euphoria of the album perfectly. It gives me goosebumps, so I'm really excited to hear what everyone thinks of it."

Kylie Minogue battled breast cancer a few years ago and has been a champion for the disease ever since. She wants to bring awareness to the fight men and women have to face and wants to raise as much money as she can.

The name of her new album Aphrodite comes from the name of the Greek goddess of love, beauty and sexuality, and the legend behind her birth is that she rose from the sea when Cronus cut off the genitals of Ouranos and threw them in to the sea.

She was married to Hephaestus, but was the lover of Ares and later Adonis.
