Lady Gaga on Larry King June 1 Talks Lupus, Michael Jackson, DADT
Lady Gaga's Larry King Interview Will Air Tuesday June 1
Lady Gaga appeared on Larry King Live on CNN and talked about a number of personal subjects, including being tested borderline positive for lupus and how she still misses Michael Jackson. Her interview will air Tuesday night.
One of Larry's first questions to Gaga was about lupus and he asked her if she had it. She replied that it was funny he would ask that as she was just discussing with her mother about how her fans were worried about her after she collapsed on stage. She was tested for lupus and was confirmed to be 'borderline positive' for the disease.
"The truth is I don't show any signs, any symptoms of lupus, but I have tested borderline positive for the disease, so as of right now I don't have it. But I have to take good care of myself."
The pop star went on to discuss Michael Jackson and Gaga revealed she was meant to open for Jackson at the O2 arena in London. She refers to his death as 'devastating'.
He's such an inspiration and remarkable human being. I guess I suppose some of my fascination with death and the demise of celebrity goes along with me watching these hugely iconic and amazing people that I have heralded and admired my whole life become destroyed. Whether self-destroyed or destroyed by the media."
As an advocate for gay rights, Gaga also addressed the don't-ask-don't-tell policy and said that she hopes it will be repealed soon. She called the policy 'archaic' and 'wrong' and said that no person is worth less than any other just based on who they want to sleep with.
