Lady Gaga Performed a New Song Called 'Princess Die'

Lady Gaga performed a new song called "Princess Die" at a recent show in Melbourne. You can see a video of Lady Gaga's new song below, shot by a fan at the show.

Lady Gaga told the adoring crowd of Little Monsters, "This song may or may not be on my next album, [...] and I've never, ever played it for anyone." She wen ton to say, "This song is a little bit sad, and is in no way reflective of the rest of the music on the [next] album."

It's interesting how un-pop-star she sounds when talking to the crowd. Without the reverb, you could picture her performing at open-mic night at a café. That's as much of a reason why she has such a rabid fan base as any meat dress.

'Princess Die' Lyrics

Leave the coffin open when I go
Leave my pearls and lipstick on so everybody knows
Pretty will be the photograph I leave
Laying down on famous knives so everybody sees

Bleach out all all the dark
I’ll swallow each peroxide shot
Someone I’ll know could love and save me from myself
Maybe I’ll just clean the shit of these fancy shoes
I’ll be a Princess Die and die with you

I wish that I was strong
I wish that I was wrong
I wish that I could cope
But I took pills and left a note

I’m hungry from an anorexic heart
I’ve been trying to tell you how I feel
But was never very smart
I’m wrapped in silks made for Egyptian queens
I’ll do it in the swimming pool
So everybody sees

Princess Die
I want to see her cry
Princess Die
Princess Die
We want to watch her cry
Princess Die

But I took pills and left a note
I wish that I could go in my rich boyfriend’s limo
Right after he proposed with a 16-carat stone wrapped in rose gold
With the paparazzi all swarming around
In my Louis Vuitton white button-down
Oh it’s not that deep
So bob your head for another dead blonde
Who’s real prince is in heaven
She just wants to sleep

The final act of life will be my own hands to do,
I’ll be a Princess Die and die with you
Applaud, approve.

I am simply horrified at the lyrics of this song. Suicide is already a major issue. It destroys parents and families plus a life lost is a life lost needlessly to suicide. My darling niece died an horrific death at her own hand six weeks ago. It is not cool, not romantic, not in anyway a coping or decision making skill or strategy.Todays adults creating this society must must must get on board and somehow halt our young people ending their lives and this song with these lyrics is heading in the wrong direction. Ban it please from all media and live concerts.

My best friend died from a suicide attempt 6 weeks ago.  This song is in no way appropriate.  It makes it seem that overdosing etc is okay.  It's negative, depressing, and doesn't even have the qualities of a good song to be featured on an album.  If a nobody tried to earn money from this, that would get laughed out of the studio.  This makes me angry.  The lyrics, everything.  Try to earn money from some decent art, not this.

This song absolutely glamorises and romanticises suicide. This is not a message that should be being sent to your young fans, Lady Gaga. I get that you want controversy and publicity but this is not the way to go about it. As far as I am concerned this song has no redeeming qualities.
