New Lady Gaga video is a 'celebration and admiration of gay love'

Pink News reports that popstar Lady Gaga has said that the video for her new single 'Alejandro' is a "celebration and admiration of gay love."

Photographer Steven Klein filmed the video for the single, taken from Gaga's album The Fame Monster. Gaga said the key themes behind the promo were "the purity of my friendships with gay men and how I've been unable to find that with a straight man in my life."

Gaga, who identifies as bisexual, goes on to say:

"In the video I'm pining for the love of my gay friends – but they don't want me."

In the sleevenotes to her debut 2008 album The Fame, she wrote: "You were the first heartbeat in this project, and your support and brilliance means the world to me. I will always fight for the gay community."

Amidst many endeavors of the popstar, Lady Gaga recently declared that she is celibate to promote HIV awareness for women. Gaga also took to Twitter to defend openly gay teen Cole Goforth, the teen who was sent home from Greenbrier High School in Tennessee on Monday, April 5th, for wearing a T-shirt that read "I Heart Lady Gay Gay."

I love this song, I had no idea about some of the themes though or that it was flimed by Steven Klein, that's really cool.
