Lady Gaga stunned audiences when she appeared at the MTV music awards last September in a dress and shoes made of meat. On Thursday, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH, revealed the dress and shoes to the public.
In case you're wondering how one can possibly preserve a meat dress, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame chief curator Jim Henke reported:
It's going to be in a case and we are putting some canisters in there to control the humidity, and then we have this other canister that soaks up the glutens. But it's in a sealed case and we have the gels to control the environment in there.
The dress and shoes took on a dark brown look due to the preservation process, so they were painted to look "fresh" afterward. The entire process took several months to complete.
The dress is being displayed as part of the "Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power" exhibit, which runs until February 2012.
