Lake Shore TV Show: Canada's Jersey Shore Cast and Video
Lake Shore, Canada's Answer to MTV's Jersey Shore, Has Revealed the Eight-Member Cast and Given Us a Preview Video
In an attempt to capitalize on the worldwide fame of Jersey Shore, Canadian TV has developed Lake Shore with eight young people in Toronto.
Meant to represent the different ethnic classes that live there, they have labeled their cast members 'The Turk', 'The Italian', the Czech' and so on.
Some groups are already up in arms about it, but filming is going ahead and it is expected to debut on TV screens some time next year. On their audition notice they didn't hide the fact that the name of the game is drama, drama, drama. As they say:
it’s your crazy girlfriend vs boyfriend vs your ex who is now dating your friend who has a crush on your boyfriend drama with fist pumps & attitude spilling all over your couch!
According to their wesbite:
Toronto is the perfect backdrop for this engaging and trendy reality TV show. Never before have such diverse backgrounds gone head to head, and the results will unveil just how inclusive Torontonians really are.
So... let's meet the cast.
Sibel - The Turk (she hates everyone 'especially Jewish people', but insists she is not a racist.)
Joey - The Italian (refers to himself as the 'No. 1 WOP'.)
Anni Mei - The Vietnamese (is animated and 'cartoony')
Tommy Hollywood - The Czech (has way too many different names)
Robyn - The Jew (hated by 'The Turk')
Salem - The Lebanese - Likes to wear Medieval costumes
Karolina - The Pole - 'Patient, artistic, creative, positive and energetic' - her words, not ours.
Downtown D - he gets his name because he is 'always downtown, Friday, Saturday, Thursday maybe and Sunday possibly' - so that means always downtown apparently.
Check out the preview - are you going to watch Lake Shore?

If this show is supposed to reflect youth of Toronto how come there are no black or south asian kids?

Please, don't do that. I'm black, and I'm very proud that my race is not being degraded. Please, pride yourself that blacks and south asians aren't on such a shameful show.

Better yet.... why does it only represent the people that hang out in crapy clubs on Adelaide street? They are mostly 905'ers anyway. So sad.

Probs becauses black people and south asians kids respect themselves too much to be in a show, which is meant to show which one of them is the trampest, ho, drunk, that has no brain power what so ever. Just a guess

wooooooooooooow lake shore? and stereotypes? im so proud of Toronto. this doesn't even reflect the youths in toronto, kinda encourages more discrimination and stereotypes. Aren't we all suppose to eliminate these in society? I can't believe how low people can get.
