It was four months ago that he was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks, and now Lamar Odom's future is up in the air.

The 32-year-old basketball stud just announced he's leaving the Mavericks, though he's not sure where he'll end up next.

Lamar told press, "The Mavericks and I have mutually agreed that it's in the best interest of both parties for me to step away from the team."

"I'm sorry that things didn't work out better for both of us, but I wish the Mavs' organization, my teammates and Dallas fans nothing but continued success in the defense of their championship."

Meanwhile, Mavericks' General Manager Donnie Nelson explained to press, "These things never come at the best of times, so we felt with the playoff push coming up it was probably in everyone's best interest."

He added, "It's been a frustrating situation. Lamar hasn't performed like he wants to perform, is capable of performing. ... We just need to move on."

According to an insider, "Any team that has Odom on its roster as of June 29 must buy him out by that date for $2.4 million or otherwise accept responsibility for the full $8.2 million that Odom is scheduled to earn in 2012-13."

After his unexpected trade to Dallas, Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian were faced with the task of house hunting in their new city.

The quick nature of NBA trades required that Lamar immediately leave LA (where he previously played for the Lakers since 2004), leaving Khloe with the job of packing up their lives in California and heading to the Lone Star State for a solo apartment hunting expedition.

In the sneak peek of this week's episode of "Khloe and Lamar," you can catch the struggles the pair faces with attempting to do all of the important tasks so quickly.

Lamar even expresses his emotional feelings, saying, "Everything is just hitting me at once, I'm tired I'm a little bit out of shape physically and mentally, its bothersome."
