Largest July 4th Fireworks Display in America

Some great quick Fourth of July videos from around the Internet.

I also have included some drumlines. Feel free to contribute what you can find as well.

What is it about fireworks that makes it the way to celebrate?

I've heard that the best displays are in New York, LA, Chicago and Austin - are there any others people have heard of? I'm not American so I don't really know for sure.

Happy Independence Day to all my Friends South of the Border.  Will be getting the binos out to watch your fireworks.

Have a great 233rd birthday.

I'll be giving a historical quiz later :)

Last night I shot at the Red, White, and Boom festival in Altamonte Springs. A ton of great bands played including Hey Monday, The Cab, Carolina Liar, Matt Nathanson, Jessie James, We The Kings and a few others. After the concert there was a phenomenal Fireworks display and my photo is just one example of the beauty that was witnessed! - Chris Martin | www.fortysixtyphoto.com

I was not sure that anyone was at their computers and I am gratified at the response.

Fireworks began in China and somehow, Marco Polo or the silk traders of Milan and Venice, brought it back as a craft from China to Italy.

To this day, Italians outnumber most other ethnic groups in the US as the chief architects of fireworks displays.

Nice job with this article Roy. I mean fourth of July is big for our American friends. I haven't attended a fourth of July celebration in a while, but maybe next year I'll celebrate it with friends in Los Angeles where I heard there was major fireworks.

This is one of the first July 4ths, since I've been living in Florida, that I didn't have to literally duck rockets (of the fireworks variety) when I walked out my front door. The kids (and grown ups too) go crazy with  fireworks down here in Florida and the pyrotechnics typically start the last week in June and go on for about a week after July 4th. It is illegal for Florida residents to shoot off fireworks but the law is strictly unenforced.  For a month or so  before July 4th  the fireworks retailers erect large tents on the side of the road or in open fields out of which they sell their wares to the public. And even though it is illegal for Florida residents to shoot off fireworks, residents are able to legally purchase the fireworks by simply signing an affidavit which states that the purchaser is using the fireworks for agricultural purposes! HA!

Great videos.  I watched in Sikeston, Mo. last nite with my grandaughter.( 5 Years Old)  We were alone so she had no child to play with.  I opened the top of the car and she sat up there.

I will never go anywhere without my tape recorder on for I have heard pure poetry.   It was

for our ears only last nite thos and it was sacred believe me.

Each burst she would utter a whisper and create the most incredible combination of words to describe each one she saw....feeling and thinking at one time!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh... spinning golden snakes!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sparkling pink diamonds..

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhswishing bugs.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhsinking noise..booming.

I cannot recall the wonderful NEW WORDS I HEARD.!  IT WAS ALMOST LIKE

A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE.

THEN AT THE END SHE SAID, I WONDER WHY THERE ARE NO BLACKS AND WHITES!

SO MANY QUESTIONS I COULD NOT ANSWER THAT I PROMISED TO LOOK UP TODAY.

WHY? HOW? ETC.  THANK GOODNESS FOR GOOGLE.   :  )

It was one of my top five favorite fourth of July celebrations.

I will be showing this to her  when sponge bob is off!!  It is wonderful that you took the

time to post these Roy!  Thank YOU!!!!
