"Larry King Live" Final Show - December 16, 2010

Video: Larry King Final Episode Of Larry King Live On CNN: Last Show Guest List

Larry King, 77, is proof that if you hang around long enough in broadcasting you become a legend. The mostly affable, often bland and occasionally insightful host of Larry King Live will broadcast his final show on Thursday, after 25 years of daily TV on CNN.

Larry King was joined on set by comedian Bill Maher and radio and TV host Ryan Seacrest.

On several occasions, King stifled tears, especially when Maher put King in the same company as TV legends Johnny Carson, Steve Allen and Walter Cronkite.

"This is not Larry's funeral," Maher interjected early in the show. "Larry is hopefully going to be in our living rooms for years to come. This is the end of a show, not the end of a man."

The final show guest list for Larry King Live was a who's who of the famous, rich, and powerful.

The final outing including a taped piece from President Obama, as well as appearances and accolades from NBC's Brian Williams, CBS' Katie Couric, and ABC's Diane Sawyer and Barbara Walters.

Other celebrities on Guest List for Larry King's final episode

  • Dr. Phil
  • Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger  who declared December 17th Larry King Day
  • Saturday Night Live comedian, Fred Armisen in the guise of a faux Larry King interview the real Larry King.
  • Larry Kings Wife and 11 year old son, Chance
  • Anderson Cooper who called Larry King a mentor

Larry King will be replaced by Piers Morgan

@dandmb50 - He got farewell messages from California Governor, then Obama, and I thought next the Pope, was going to wish him well. It was a little over the top, but he did a good job over the years, and was good at not asking the "tough questions", that may be why he lasted.

Best of luck Larry.

My take on everything.
