Larry King and wife Shawn Southwick recently sought marriage counseling to avoid a divorce. Also, allegations surfaced that King was having an affair with Southwick's sister, Shannon Engemann; both sisters denied the allegation. Shawn Southwick was hospitalized in early June after a prescription-drug overdose, but she denied that it was a suicide attempt.

King (76) and Southwick (50) have two boys, aged 11 and 9. This is Larry King's seventh wife; he has been married eight times (twice to Alene Akins). CNN says that King has conducted over 50,000 interviews.[

I’ll still be a part of the CNN family, hosting several Larry King specials on major national and international subjects.

I’m incredibly proud that we recently made the Guinness Book of World Records for having the longest running show with the same host in the same time slot. With this chapter closing I’m looking forward to the future and what my next chapter will bring, but for now it’s time to hang up my nightly suspenders.
