What will come as no great surprise I'm sure, Lauren Conrad, star of reality television, appeared on The View this morning, and admitted that The Hills, the show that made her famous, is fake.

There was a point in the show last season, Conrad's last, when Spencer Pratt called Lauren to apologize for his behaviour towards her, but according to Conrad, she wasn't even on the other end of that call.

"To be perfectly honest, I wasn't on the other end of that call," Conrad told The View co-host Elizabeth Hasslebeck during a Thursday morning appearance on the ABC morning show.

"What do you mean?" Hasslebeck asked.

"That was filmed and I wasn't on the other end," Conrad reiterated.

Spencer and Heidi appeared on The View on Monday, and Spencer said that he only apologized to Lauren to get her to come to their wedding, but he didn't start the sex tape rumour that he was apologizing for.
"I apologized because that is what got [Conrad] to our wedding," Pratt had said during a Monday appearance on The View that also included his wife.  "I said I'm sorry because [Conrad] said, 'I will come to the wedding if you say I'm sorry' -- for something I didn't even do."

"You never spread the rumors?" The View co-host Sherri Shepherd had asked Pratt.

"Absolutely not," Pratt had answered.  "It's not a rumor.  It was fact."

Lauren was on The View to promote her new book, LA Candy about a young girl who moves to L.A and gets on a reality tv show, which is pretty much like Lauren's life anyway.
