L-Word Star Leisha Hailey: "Southwest Kicked Me off a Plane for Kissing My Girlfriend"

Leisha Hailey, who played Alice on The L-Word as well as performing as part of the band Uh Huh Her, was kicked off Southwest Airlines flight 2274 after a flight attendant scolded her and her girlfriend, fashion designer Nina Garduno, for kissing. According to Hailey, the flight attendant had a problem with two lesbians kissing on the plane. Both Leisha Hailey and Nina Garduno were escorted off the plane.

I have been discriminated against by @SouthwestAir. Flt. attendant said that it was a "family" airline and kissing was not ok.

Southwest Airlines apologized via Twitter, but publicly denied that Leisha Hailey's and her girlfriend's sexuality was the issue, but it's worth pointing out that this is the same airline that kicked Kevin Smith off a flight for being "too fat". And what about Billy Joe Armstrong and his saggy trousers?

Airlines hide behind the "other passengers complained" excuse rather often, and these "other passengers" never seem to materialize. Uh Huh Her called bullshit on Southwest's already-unconvincing blog post.

The #boycottSouthwest hashtag was born, which you can see in the feed reader below.
