To the surprise of many, John Lennon's Hollywood Walk Of Fame star is missing. The star was dedicated in 1988. The brass plaque was installed at 1750 Vine Street along the most famous outdoor entertainment museum in the world.

Now, the only thing left is just the outline of a star covered with a trash-bag. But, it is not clear whether Lennon's star is missing because someone stole it or because the site is on maintenance and being cleaned. It is possible that the the star was stolen by fans as memorabilia or, what is worse, vandals.

The Beatles have a band star dedicated to them. George Harrison received a star posthumously. And, Ringo Starr will be getting his on February 8. Some reports are speculating that Ringo Starr's addition to the Walk Of Fame might be to blame: Lennon's star might have been removed to accommodate for Ringo.

December 8 marked the 29th anniversary of John Lennon's assassination in front of his New York apartment.

The star has been moved next to George Harrison's star as reported on examiner.com, in hopes that someday all the solo Beatles stars will be all together.
