As an occasional visitor to NYC I am happy to hear the Statue has been reopened to allow visitors to access the interior.
On our previous visits, we were imformed the statue would never reopen. Indeed, during our boat trips circumnavigating Manhattan and Liberty Island, crowds of people could be seen on Liberty Island staring up at this magnificent attraction/symbol, but for us, the atraction of just visiting this small island to stare up at the statue never really appealed and our view from the water always seemed better. However, now it would definitely be on our list of places to visit during our next trip, and for me, as a photographer, the idea of taking shots of Manhattan from a different viewpoint is always welcome!
